API keys

How a key is issued

There is no account to create and no password to set. When your one-time top-up clears, the payment provider notifies the service and a key is issued to the email address on the payment. The key is shown on the page you land on after checkout.

Your key identifies your credit balance. There is one balance per purchase.

Retrieve your key

If you closed the page after checkout, you can look your key up again with the request id from your checkout link — it looks like req_xxxxxxxxxx and appears in the URL of the page you landed on. The lookup runs on the API host:

Using your key

Authorization: Bearer jf_live_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Anyone holding the key can spend the credits on it, so keep it server-side. It is sent with every request as shown in the API documentation.

Additional keys and rotation

With an existing key you can issue another for the same account (POST /v1/keys) — useful for separating staging from production. To rotate or revoke a key, email hello@fortisdigital.dev from the address on the purchase. Revocation takes effect immediately and the credits on the account are unaffected.

Refunds

A refund or chargeback revokes the keys issued on that purchase. See the refund policy.
